For over 20 years, they have empowered families with the skills to stretch their food budgets and cook healthy meals so their children get nutritious food at home. As part of the No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in America, Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters teaches participants to shop smarter, use nutrition information to make healthier choices and cook delicious, affordable meals. They offer resources such as Cooking Matters at the Store, which are grocery store tours with staff or volunteers from local and regional social service agencies, supermarket employees, faith leaders, chefs, nutrition experts and others who know that healthy food doesn’t have to break the bank.
